„We against the virus"

The idea around this project is a result of the pandemic. During this time I couldn’t help but notice how people have changed, their tolerance towards one another shrank. It is proven that under stress human beings tend to reverse to their natural instincts for survival and this has influence over their tolerance to others different than them.

As logical and theoretically correct this statement is it does not make the consequences more acceptable.  After I have personally experienced a few, so to say “interesting” situations, I started thinking “what could I possibly do, as a professional in the intercultural field”? This is how I began developing the idea of the face masks- their short and meaningful message strives to bring awareness that we are in this together!

In general, there are many mixed opinions on wearing face masks but one way or another they have become a necessity all around the world. The good news is that instead of wearing disposable masks we can choose to put on a mask with a statement. Wearing it, you will express your opinion and will help other empathetic fellows recognize you!

I would be very grateful if you share your opinion on this project

This  is an online catalogue with tools and materials in the intercultural field. This catalogue is a useful source of information to professionals who would like to adjust their working methods to their intercultural work environment. The website can be accessed without a registration or a fee.

I was involved in this project as an assistant of the Dutch partner I.B.I. You can learn more about it from the videos down below:

I have participated in the project as a translator and associate, based on my intercultural knowledge. This project is an interactive card game, where the creator of the game Dr. Simons invested his tremendous experience in the intercultural field. Games are effective tools when it comes to education; they also create a propitious atmosphere for discussing sensitive topics. All in all - you learn while having fun!

I would like to share my favorite quote from one of the cards:

"Homesickness is... absolutely nothing.

Fifty percent of the people in the world are homesick all the time ...

You don't really long for another country.

You long for something in yourself that you don't have,

or haven't been able to find."
